Healthcare like it should be.
That simple sentiment is our guiding light at Woodstock Apothecary.
Our independently owned, family drug store promises a new pharmacy experience.
We do so by fusing together the best of medicine: traditional prescription and over-the-counter medicines with nutrition, supplements, vitamins, herbals and more.
Pharmacists are the “natural” choice to consult for vitamin and supplement advice. We are medication experts with extensive training in the biochemical systems of the body. These systems are enhanced, maximized, or solely reliant on nutrients, vitamins, and enzymes. Moreover, we are aware of the many potential interactions between supplements and prescription medicine.
The problem is many pharmacists are traditionally trained and lack the expertise in nutrition and natural medicine. And on the other side of the coin – some providing natural medicine products are frequently under-trained… high school students at health food stores giving medical advice. Some have even said outright that vitamins and herbals are not drugs.
These are the problems that Woodstock Apothecary aims to solve. Agents used in the pursuit of health – food or drug – and the provision of healthcare should be respected and taken seriously. Our patients deserve it!
Our store has expertly trained, friendly, helpful, and happy staff dedicated to help you and your family obtain health. Our training is on going via formal, accredited continuing education. And by the way – our definition of family includes the furry, four legged, or otherwise non-humans that fill our lives with happiness.
We thoroughly analyze supplement companies and their products to ensure our patients receive the purest, safest, most effective, and most consistent effect possible. If a quality product is not available, we will not stock it. It is this critical eye that ensures some standardization in an otherwise unregulated industry.
Our pharmacists educate all patients on their medicine. They utilize the newest technology to inform you of any nutrients that may be altered in your body as a result of taking a medicine. This way, you get the benefit of the prescription drug while maintaining a natural biochemical balance.
Here, we focus on disease prevention. Whether it is by vaccination, good nutrition, or disease awareness, we hope to open the minds of our fellow community members to look at health holistically and proactively.
We’ve been told this sounds much like a movement. We didn’t start it…but where better than Woodstock, New York to advocate a movement?
